There is a story...

Growing up...driving across the country, mostly Kansas, so many times got to be quite boring. Anyone thats ever driven through Kansas knows what I am talking about! 450 of the longest miles you can imagine! Well, if you have made the long drive, you are also probably aware of the numerous "road side attractions" that Kansas has to offer... 6 legged steir, worlds largest gopher... all things my dad would never let us stop and see. So, last week my mom, brother and I drove (across Kansas and Missouri) to Illinois to celebrate my Grandma's 75th Birthday. And GUESS WHAT? No, I didn't to see the 6-legged steir (only because that attraction is only open during the summer), but I did convice Jason to stop at a few other "attractions. And thanks to the less than accurate directions that roadsideamerica provided...Jason was getting quite annoyed at my requests so I couldn't convice him to stop at the Worlds Largest Spur, Worlds Largest Pecan, the Large Eyeball, The Largest Shoe-Made entirely out of shoes or anything else for that matter.

I did however see a few things, a big improvement over any other trip in the past!

Worlds Largest Easel.
80 ft tall and 40,000 lb steel easel
Complete with a 24ft x 32ft replica of van Gogh's Sunflower Painting
Goodland, KS

50 Foot tall concrete Tee Pee in Lawrence, KS

Worlds Largest Shuttlecock
18 feet tall, weighs 2 1/2 tons
Kansas City, MO

Robert Wadlow aka "Altons Gentle Giant"
Worlds Tallest Man
Alton, IL
Robert Wadlows Chair
Alton, IL
(I have been getting my picture taken with the Robert Wadlow statue since I was at least 3. We make it a point every time we are visiting family in IL to make sure we get our yearly picture.

Playdate

Kim & I have decided to start having playdates/scrapbooking...hopefully weekly.
We WILL get caught up on our kids scrapbooks before they graduate college!
The boys (Reece is 2 and Aiden is 8 months) all get along great. They play so well together.
Reece and Braedyn "fighting" with the Hulk hands. (Toys that are NOT ever going to be seen in our house!)

Braedyn celebrating his victory as Reece is planning his next move.

Prestyn and Reece playing with cars. These two have addictions. Prestyn the paci and Reece the sippy cup.

Braedyn is 4!

On Braedyn actual birthday we took him out to dinner at Red Robin (his choice) and he got a BIG birthday Icecream Sunday! We were able to get a few bites out of it before he devoured the entire thing! Then we went home and he got to open his present from us.

Bubblebee Transformer and the Transformers Movie.

Ages 5 and up?? Ya right!!! It took Brandyn about 20min to turn it from the car into the transformer. but the best part was when Braedyn piped up and said "but I want it to be a car!" haha

Then on Monday, the 15th, we had all the family over to celebrate with cake and icecream. Gramma made the pirate hat cake and he loved it!

SANTA!

Mom & I took the boys to see Santa and they did GREAT!!!!! We went in the middle of the day so there was noone there. I was expecting to have to sit on Santa's lap with them like I do every other year. They both ran right up to him and started talking to him about his reindeer and snow and Christmas. It was great.
It probably helps that I pulled out all the Christmas movies and cartoons about a week ago and have been letting them watch them and see how unscary Santa is.

Just because....

someone asked if I was ever going to let Brandyn be in a picture on the blog.....

....freezing our butts off (litterly) at the AFA vs BYU game about a month ago.

Prestyn decided it was more fun to scoot on his bum down the hill. And he did not like that there was snow on his boots. Poor kid.
