Warning- LONG post.
OCTOBER
He had a costume party with his cousins.
And we went out to dinner at Red Robin where they sang him Happy Birthday and brought him Birthday Sundae!
Prestyn had a Halloween Program at Preschool. They sang songs and had goodies to eat.
For Halloween, the kids were all skeletons and had lots of fun Trick or Treating in the neighborhood.
Other randomness from October…
Adalyn is becoming quite the independent little toddler.
And Braedyn is quite the little ladies man.
November
We went to Target after Halloween and bought some super cheap, less than $3/each Halloween costumes for playing.
Mom and I took the kids to Longmont for a day to visit with Aunt Megyn, Uncle Ted, Harley and Hayley.
Prestyn’s Preschool had a Thanksgiving Celebration with singing and the kids had a feast they had helped to prepare.
Braedyn’s Assistant Principal has a big farm and he brought a turkey to school to be Pardoned for Thanksgiving.
And he also had a Thanksgiving Party in class.
Braedyn and Maddie.
They made little Turkeys.
Played Thanksgiving BINGO and had some yummy snacks.
Thanksgiving Dinner was at Papa and Cinny’s house (like every year!) and the food was wonderful as always.
Adalyn loved on Hayley a LOT.
and was fascinated with taking the paci away and then giving it back.
And they all fell asleep on the way home.
December
Aunt Kryste, Uncle Frank, Zoe, Ronin and Liam came through Colorado on their way to California, their new home for the next few years. The kids had so much fun playing with their cousins. We are excited they are coming back to spend Christmas in Colorado with all of us.
They all helped decorate Gramma Gramma’s Christmas tree.
And Zoe led them all in singing Christmas songs.
And we even attempted a group shot.
December 11, Braedyn turned 6. But we celebrated on the 10th.
We didn’t do a party this year. Instead he got the Nintendo DS XL which is he has been asking for since he was 3yrs old.
We did attempt to go to Red Robin for birthday dinner and ice cream but his stomach wasn’t up for it and we found out at the doctor a few days later that he has acid reflux. He is doing much better now that he is on some medication for it and has started eating again.
On the 11th, we had our 26th Annual Toy Day. The kids get to pick out their own toy with no influence from their parents.
Braedyn picked a game for his Nintendo DS. Prestyn picked out some Bakugans and Adalyn got a princess phone and a Princess Tiana doll (from Princess and the Frog).
We had Ice Cream Cake for Braedyn’s birthday at Family dinner on Sunday, the 12th. (it was a busy weekend!)
Adalyn enjoyed her Strawberry Sorbet. (we have found that she doesn’t tolerate dairy which is a bummer for a child that lived for ice cream!)
Braedyn’s first Kindergarten program this year was a Christmas concert- “Jingle Bell Juke Box”
It was all three classes (AM, PM and ALL DAY) singing together and they did a great job.
On the last day of school before Christmas break, both boys had class parties.
Prestyn’s included a special story time by the fireplace in the church (where his preschool his) complete with popcorn.
Then we went back to his classroom where they sang us some Christmas songs and even played instruments for one of the songs.
After the music, we helped our preschoolers make Apple Sauce Ornaments. Pretty neat idea and really easy.
The recipe in case you want to try it. It makes a gooey dough and you roll it out and then use cookie cutters to make different shaped ornaments, poke a hole in the top for the sting and then let harden.
Then of course there was snacks.
Braedyn’s Christmas Party was the same afternoon and they made Elf boots for a craft and then had lots of tasty goodies.
The next post will be a Christmas one!
