Hungry Bear

Meet Digger.  Digger is a 700lb (he will get to about 1200lbs) Grizzly Bear at the CM Zoo.  Feeding time for the bears is 1:15 everyday so we had a picnic lunch and then went up the tower to the viewing area to watch. 
 
Apparently Digger was a little impatient…..

and decided that this 3year old looked meaty enough to
have as an appetizer.

Braedyn was actually standing up there when the bear came over but since he kind of “lunged” at the glass window, Braedyn got a little startled and jumped down.  Prestyn willingly jumped up in his place and enjoyed every bit of the bear pawing at the window.  I may need a faster camera because I missed some good shots.

Will Rogers Shrine

I have lived in Colorado for about 18 1/2 years and been to just about all the local tourist attractions.  However, until today, I have never been up to the Will Rogers Shrine.  Our Zoo Membership includes free admission up to the Shrine so today we decided to drive on up.  It was pretty neat to walk to the top and see the history of Will’s life and why the shrine was built and then why it was named after him.  

     Adalyn slept the whole time.

This time Brandyn went with us and we rode the Sky Ride to the top of the mountain.  Boys were a little skeptical about it at first, but really enjoyed it once we got on it. 

At the top there is a jungle gym…

and of course- a nice view of the city.  It was a little cloudy today.

2 new baby giraffes (born at the end of march, both weighed in at around 120lbs and 6ft tall at birth!)

This is baby Godek.  Isn’t he just the cutest?
