Will Rogers Shrine

I have lived in Colorado for about 18 1/2 years and been to just about all the local tourist attractions.  However, until today, I have never been up to the Will Rogers Shrine.  Our Zoo Membership includes free admission up to the Shrine so today we decided to drive on up.  It was pretty neat to walk to the top and see the history of Will’s life and why the shrine was built and then why it was named after him.

Bet you can’t guess…..

what we did today?  What else!  (ZOO!)
This time Brandyn went with us and we rode the Sky Ride to the top of the mountain.  Boys were a little skeptical about it at first, but really enjoyed it once we got on it.

Zoo with Harley and Megyn!

Yes I know.  Another post about going to the zoo.  Well,  I can guarantee there will be a few more  before the summer is over because we bought a membership so we will be taking advantage of going quite often.

Harley loved the “raffee’s”

The tiger was pacing back and forth right in front of the window.  Very cool.  He was very pretty.

The Grizzly bears were napping so the kids just watched the fish survivors instead.

The hippos were outside nosing around in the dirt.  And then one of them got too close to the other and we almost saw our own private showing of ‘When Hippo’s Attack’

This one kept kissing Braedyn thru the glass. It was pretty funny.

Overall- good day at the zoo.  Weather was nice (in the 50’s which is nice for Colorado but cold for you southern and eastern folks).  Kids had a great time and were all worn out by the end.

Rare

I am actually in a few pictures.

No, I was no shoving my babies hand into the giraffes mouth.  I was actually trying to take her hand OUT of his mouth because she thought it was funny.

One of the kids favorite exhibits in the zoo.  The Bungee Buddy’s Bird house.  Little birds everywhere and you can feed them and most of the time they hop right onto the treat stick . Lots of fun!

Megyn and I took the kids to the Zoo yesterday.  Harley LOVED the giraffes and the tiger was pacing back and forth right in front of the window.  I’ll post a few more pictures later.  But for now….we are off to go get FREE bagels at Einsteins Bagel for Free Bagel Fridays!

Easter Bunny

Up until this morning Prestyn was absolutely positive he was NOT going to see the Easter Bunny.  He is not a fan of any “oversized” animals…Chick-fil-a’s Cow and the dancing chicken for Wing Stop just to name a few we see often.  The idea of a giant rabbit was just something he was not going to have anything to do with.  So for months I have been trying to convince him that the cow and the chicken are just humans wearing costumes like on Halloween, and recently the same thing about the East bunny.….he doesn’t care, still doesn’t like ‘em!  I have even gone as far as telling him that the Easter Bunny is made up and isn’t real because the kid keeps himself awake at night worrying about this giant bunny coming to HIS house.   Anyways…went to the mall today just to ‘walk by’ the Easter bunny so Braedyn (unafraid of large oversize animals) could at least wave to him…and guess who was so excited to wave and got really excited that the bunny gave him a high five? yep!

So they all sat on his lap and no one was scared.  Even Adalyn thought he was pretty great!  It took about 8 tries to get this picture where they are all looking because Adalyn kept turning around to look at him.

Now…I wonder how long until we can go into Chick-fil-a without having to look through the window to make sure the Cow isn’t in there before we can go in.
